I am slightly obsessed with Palahniuk. He always manages to say things how they are. People like to dwell on their problems. They try to make their problems their identity and find comfort in them. They’d rather have interesting problems than be problemless and boring. When you have always put emphasis on your problems, enlarged all the obstacles in your life during conversations, build up your character around your suffering… Once your problems are fixed, not much remains.
